Childrens Bedding Is Double Decorating Duty For A Shared Bedroom

Decorating your kids bedroom in a way that is a fun and inspiring way for your child to express them self, but it also can be quite a challenge. And it is an even greater challenge when you have to decorate a bedroom shared by two of your kids. Even if you have identical twins, the chances of the two kids having the same style and first choice of childrens bedding or other aesthetic aspects of a room, is pretty slim.

You can try the age-old method of drawing a line along the middle of the room and letting each kid decorate his or her side the way they want. But it creates quite a challenge as well as it can really create a mish mash of styles, which doesnt give an overall cohesive appearance. It is not to say the kids cannot divide the room, but it probably is not the best solution.

You will have better results if you follow a few simple guidelines when it comes to childrens bedding and other decorating accessories. Do not just let your kids pick out any old bedding designs because you never know what you may end up with. Before you start the process, have them agree on the color of the bedding each would like to incorporate into their designs. You should stop your participation in the room-decorating process there. From the mutual choice of the color palette, they should be allowed to express themselves by choosing the rest of the accessories. Theyll pick the accessories based on their interests. As an example, you may have sons that think of nothing but sports. They can find rugs or childrens bedding that has footballs, baseballs or soccer balls or whatever their sports preference is on it or perhaps flowers, princesses or unicorn bedding on it if you have girlie girls.

No matter what type of theme or color scheme your kids choose to go with for their room, you can find it at VisionBedding.com. VisionBedding is a unique and ingenious company that has pioneered the personalization of childrens bedding, wall murals, kids rugs as well as other household dcor. You could make your own poster with pictures of you and the kids and coordinate the bedroom ensemble with custom childrens bedding.

The most important thing to keep in mind when redecorating a bedroom shared by both of your kids is that the room does not have to match in order to be perfect. Perfect is often in the eye of the beholder and when it comes to childrens personal space, as long as your kids are happy, most parents are happy too.

Insights Into Interior Design Designing In Style. Part Iii Traditional – Georgian

Interior design has always been impacted by fashion trends – both historically and in the modern day. In this article series, “Designing in Style,” I explore the meaning of style for interior designers. I draw on my experience working alongside many of London’s best-known interior design teams.

This third article in my series continues my discussion of traditional/period design, with a focus on the Georgian style.

In terms of dates, the Georgian period is generally considered to have extended from 1714 until 1830. It has since inspired one of the most popular traditional interior design schemes.

London design was considered world-class in Georgian times – UK craftspeople were highly skilled and uniquely specialised. The wealthiest classes insisted on the highest quality, with exacting standards in terms of dimensions and proportions.

A few designers were particularly famous during the Georgian era. Their names, ideas and concepts live on today in the many homes and residences that feature Georgian-inspired interior designs.

William Kent lived from 1684 until 1748 and was an architect/interior designer who is best known for his tables and chairs which featured extravagant gilt decorations and strong connections to Greek and Roman insignia. Today these traditional designs continue to be used by many London Interior Design Consultancies that specialise in the Georgian style.

Thomas Chippendale is a name famous to many discerning Londoners. This cabinet-maker lived from 1718 until 1779 and designed furniture that was less ostentatious than that of William Kent, consistent with British (and London) tastes at the time, and yet exceedingly graceful and refined. Interior designers today will adopt either Chippendale’s original designs or re-envisionments/replicas of his originals.

Finally, Robert Adam was an architect and interior designer who dominated the 1770s with his vivacious use of Roman and Greek motifs, including urns, tripods, and mythological iconography.

Today, London interior design consultancies tend to be cautious with Georgian designs, recognising that this style can look pretentious if too pronounced. Larger, more spacious London mansions with tall ceilings are best suited to the Georgian style of interior design.

The next article in my series “Designing in Style” moves away from historic traditions and focuses in on a timeless interior design classic – the rural countryside.

Decorating Ideas for Outdoor Patios

Many people have patios or decks behind their homes. Decorating these spaces can often be a challenge because of its exposure to rain and other inclement weather. Fortunately, decorating patios is not impossible, as long as you have a little inspiration and some good design ideas.

One great idea for decorating your outdoor space is to create an outdoor kitchen. Putting in a counter and grill will increase the utility of the space and allow you and your family to cook and eat your meals outside when the weather is nice. If you decide to install an outdoor kitchen, you will have to get a dining set as well as a counter and grill. Many stores sell dining sets specifically meant for the outdoors, made of material that is resistant to rain.

A bonfire pit is another option, especially for people who have stone patios that are not raised off of the ground. Placing a bonfire pit into the center of the space can increase its utility and give you and your family a way to spend time together outdoors, even when the weather is cold. If you have kids, having a bonfire can also be a great activity to do when they have friends over. They can roast marshmallows and tell stories around the bonfire pit, just like they would on a camping trip. Outdoor fireplaces are a popular option.

If you don’t want to create an outdoor kitchen, you could always make your outdoor space into a cocktail area that will come in handy when you host parties and other gatherings. You could buy an outdoor couch and some comfortable chairs, as well as some end tables that people can place their drinks on. Some outdoor candles or soft lights can add to the ambience of the space.

Flowers and plants can serve as excellent decorative accents for patios. Once you’ve figured out exactly what type of outdoor space you want to have and bought the furniture and other things you need to make that vision a reality, you can start shopping for plants. You could try some flowers in bright pots to add charm and color to your deck.

No matter what type of design scheme you end up choosing for your outdoor space, you may want to consider shopping for patio covers as well. These covers come in a variety of designs, ranging from simple to intricate. They are also made of many different building materials, including wood and aluminum. This guarantees that you will be able to find one that matches your deck and complements the rest of the furniture and dcor in your outdoor space.

Bedroom interior design ideas are different for each individual. The preferences of the individual usually prevail when it comes to bedroom interior design ideas and it is seldom the interior designer’s whims that prevail. Of course the interior designer suggests possible settings and interior designs which are based on the preferences of the person. A single individual with no partner or family yet usually has different needs and preferences compared to a couple or a family. Bedroom interior design ideas for a person with no partner or family is sometimes more modern or unique than those who has someone to share with. Modern interior design ideas are usually prevalent for most single individuals.

Color Scheme

The color scheme is one of the bedroom interior design ideas that many people may make unique. Depending on the gender of the individual, the color scheme of the bedroom may be strong or relaxing. Men, single men, usually have strong and bold colors as choices for their bedroom interior design ideas with regards to color. Instead of the bold black or red colors, the strong appearance of the bedroom of some single men may have something to do with natural wood. Using natural grainy wood is often appealing to many single men as well as single women.

Bedroom interior design ideas for women with regards to their color scheme may focus more on soft or light colors. Some women may also like the natural feel and appearance of wood but others may also like the appeal of metal on wicker, or wrought iron on wood or even floral designs. Bedroom interior design ideas for women may be more complicated than those of men because women may be somewhat meticulous about certain things such as containers for their paraphernalia and such.

Both genders do enjoy the natural feel and appearance of wood which says a lot about the availability of bedroom items made of wood. Bedroom interior design ideas for single individuals may also focus on walk in clothes cabinets which may or may not be big depending on the clothes of the individual. Other features of a single person’s bedroom may also be the need for different mood lighting and an entertainment center. Electric outlets and wall mounts for speakers and television may be necessary as bedroom interior design ideas. It is important to emphasize the need for electrical outlets in places where the individual may plan to place appliances and other electrical needs.
